Premium aftermarket parts supplier, Motaquip, has further extended its apprentice scheme, which now employs three recruits in key Customer Service and Product Planning roles.  Aiming to address an industry-wide skills gap, a problem highlighted by recent AMMS data which revealed 17% of automotive businesses now struggle to recruit suitable personnel, Motaquip is training the next generation to ensure specialist skills are developed for the good of the company and the wider automotive industry.

"People are the lifeblood of our organisation," said Peter Cox, General Manager UK Sales, "Motaquip is a company famed for delivering a comprehensive premium product range but also for providing outstanding customer service. It is vital that we protect these values and to do this we need a highly talented workforce with the right mix of skills.  Motaquip’s investment in developing people will ensure we are able to maintain our class-leading levels of service in the years to come.”

Motaquip’s first recruit, 21-year-old Casey Aucott, joined the company in 2016 and is currently a Customer Services Advisor.  With the support of Motaquip Casey has successfully achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service and is working towards her level 3 qualification.

Next to join was, 24-year-old Natalie Hammersley, who became a Motaquip employee in July 2018. Natalie is currently a Customer Service Apprentice and is working towards her NVQ Level 2 qualification in Customer Service.

24-year-old Angelika Rola is the company’s most recent addition joining in December 2018.  Angelika has been appointed as a Product Planner and is an Advanced Apprentice studying to achieve an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

Asked why she choose Motaquip Angelika commented:

“I have a passion for the Motor Industry and wanted to gain hands-on work experience while achieving my academic qualifications. Motaquip quickly stood out as an organisation that understood the value of apprentices and it was clear right from the very first conversation they were able to offer genuine career opportunities and a clearly defined and exciting job role.

“During my first few months with Motaquip my expectations have been surpassed, I am learning something new every day and I am very much enjoying the role.  I am looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead and continuing to develop my career with the Motaquip brand.”
